Scott Anderson, PhD (Day One – Guest Speaker)

Scott is a director and senior economist at Wells Fargo based in Minneapolis, MN. He is responsible for the analysis and forecasting of international, national and regional economic trends. Scott was recently named one of the Top 10 economic forecasters in the country by USA Today. Before joining Wells Fargo as senior economist in 2001, he held positions at Moody’s Analytics in Philadelphia, and the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC.
Scott provides daily analyses of U.S. economic releases, and contributes to the Wells Fargo Economics’ macroeconomic forecast. He authors the Wells Fargo California and Minnesota Outlook reports, and contributes to the Weekly Economic & Financial Commentary report and Monthly Economic Outlook report. He also covers the economies of Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. Scott’s research is widely read by the financial and business community and he has appeared in numerous publication and broadcast media.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota, and his Masters of Philosophy in Economics as well as his Doctorate in Economics from George Washington University. He was appointed to the Minnesota Council of Economic Advisors in 2010.
Scott is a member of the American Bankers Association Economic Advisory Committee and the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Professional Forecasters, National Association of Business Economists’ Macroeconomic Forecasting Panel, the Fiancial Roundtable Committee, the macro-forecasting panel of the Bureau of National Affairs Forecasts, and the USA Today and Wall Street Journal macroeconomics forecasting panel.

David joined SIRVA Relocation in March 2000 after retiring from Chevron Corp. with over 33 years of Human Resources assignments. During his Chevron career he held many key HR leadership positions including compensation, benefits design, job evaluation, recruiting and heading up numberous HR staffs. His last assignment was general manager of non-compensation policies which included gobal relocation.
David is a Senior Certified Relocation Professional (SCRP) and holds the Senior Global Mobility Specialist (SGMS) title. In 1998, David received the Meritorious Service Award from Worlwide ERC®. In 2001, 2005, 2009 and again in 2011 David was awarded ERC’s prestigious Distinguished Service Award. He was also inducted into ERC’s Hall of Leaders at the 2011 National ERC Convention. A distinction only 47 individuals have been honored with since ERC was founded in 1964.
David has completed a three-year term on the Board of Directors of ERC and seven years on ERC’s Public Policy Committee.
David holds a bachelors degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of Utah.
Chris Derrow (Day Two - The Mortgage Industry, Should I Place My Bet?)

Chris Derrow is currently President of Real Living Inc. headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. He has also served as President of Mortgage at Real Living, Inc. an affiliate of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Mr. Derrow also served as Regional Sales Manager and Vice President at Wells Fargo, America’s leading originator of home loans. Mr Derrow started at Wells Fargo 19 years ago, where he served as a Regional Builder Manager and opened his own branch in Columbus, Ohio in 2001. In 1999, he was involved in the original Wells Fargo/HER Realtors partnership when he arranged the purchase of Online Financial Services, HER’s in-house mortgage company at the time.
Prior to Wells Fargo, Mr. Derrow worked at Diamond Savings and Loan Company and PNC Financial’s The Central Trust Company. Mr. Derrow has served on the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio’s Sales Advisory Council and serves as member of several real estate associations. He has also served in various officer capacities with the Columbus Mortgage Banker’s Association.
Mr. Derrow is involved in various non-profit groups supporting the Columbus real estate industry. He taught for several years at Hondros College, a Columbus-based college that provides insurance and real estate licensing throughout Ohio. He has also taught at Columbus State Community College and Bliss College.
Mr. Derrow graduated from Marshall University with a degree in Marketing and Accounting. After Marshall, he attended the American Institue of Banking, specializing in Mortgage Banking.

Kevin joined WRRI in 2007 and is currently responsible for marketing and disposition of all inventory homes for US and Canada in addition to pre-acquisition activities for all portfolio managed clients. Prior to WRRI Kevin held numerous staff and management positions in operations, accounting and client relations for several major third party companies including Prudential, Coldwell Banker and Cornerstone.
Kevin holds a B.B.A. in Management from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He has prior experience as a residential real estate appraiser and is a Certified Relocation Professional.

Archie Griffin (Day Two – Guest Speaker)

Archie Griffin became President and CEO of The Ohio State Alumni Association on January 1, 2004. It is one of the biggest dues-supported alumni associations in the world. Griffin’s aim is to make it possible for all graduates and former students to stay connected and continue to strengthen the status of the University.
Archie Griffin is also known as the only two-time winner of the prestigious Heisman Trophy. He was a three time All-American in 1973, 1974 and 1975. In 2006, Griffin was listed in NCAA’s “100 Most Influential Student-Athletes” and was appointed to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
Griffin earned his degree in Industrial Relations. In 1976. he was a first-round draft choice of the Cincinnati Bengals, where he served as co-captain and played with the franchise for seven years.
Griffin created the Archie Griffin Scholarship Fund which benefits Ohio State’s Olympic sports programs. He and his wife, Bonita, formed the Archie and Bonita Griffin Foundation Fund that helps develop sports, educational, and travel programs for youths in central Ohio. Archie is the spokesperson for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Program and is also a member of many charitable organizations.
He has three children—Anthony, Andre, and Adam.
Aaron Huberty (Day Two - The Mortgage Industry, Should I Place My Bet?)

Aaron is responsible for the National Condominium Strategy and Business Development activities for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, the nation’s largest provider of consumer mortgage financing. In 2010, the condominium program generated $9.5 billion in loan volume and helped serve over 35,000 customers.
Aaron has over 18 years of financial services experience, specializing in sales, strategic planning, business development, marketing, and relationship management. His background includes 10 years within Wells Fargo Financial Global Marketing, where he led the Strategic Partnership, Corporate Sponsorship and Diverse Segments strategies. These programs were designed to support both consumer and commercial businesses, both inside and outside the organization.
Prior to this, he was with Norwest Financial in the southwest and was in sales management.
Aaron is cofounder and board member of The Someday Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. He is active in United Way, American Cancer Society, and Students in Free Enterprise.
Aaron is married with two sons and lives in Ankeny, Iowa.
Brian Keating, GMS (Day One – To Move or Not to Move, That is the Question!)

Brian is primarily responsible for both new client implementation and ongoing client relationship management for Dwellworks’ Residential Services team. Ever committed to service the needs of his clients, Brian joined Dwellworks in early 2010, bringing with him 12 years of client management and business development experience in the corporate relocation and mortgage lending industries. Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bucknell University, and has also earned his CRP and GMS designations from Worldwide ERC®.
An avid Browns and Indians fan, Brian lives in Cleveland, OH with his wife Becca and son Simon. He remains hopeful that someday he will witness a professional championship team in Northeast, Ohio.
Chuck Mischley (Day One - Social Media; What’s it Good for Anyway?)

As Manager, Talent Acquisition, Chuck is responsible for recruiting, leadership, strategies and directives as it relates to Nationwide Insurance’s Office of Finance, Nationwide Investments, Nationwide Advantage Mortgage Company, Nationwide Financial Services Company and the Office of General Counsel. Chuck was also the previous leader for the University Relations/Recruiting department.
Prior to Nationwide, Chuck spent five years in the recruiting field in various sectors. He bagan his recruiting career with Maxim Healthcare Services in Cleveland, Ohio and went on to run their Detroit operations. Following Maxim, Chuck spent time recruiting sales professionals for various companies across the country and was a Recruiting Manager with Roger Half in their Finance/Accounting department before joining Nationwide.
Chuck has partnered with the Ohio Insurance Industry Advisory board on their strategic strategies/partnerships with Ohio colleges and has been quoted in various columbus periodicals and the Wall Street Journal on the job market and university recruiting strategies. He has also been the United Way Lead for the HR organization at Nationwide with focus on participation strategies in 2008 and 2009 and served in other capacities the prior two years. Chuck obtained his Certified Internet Recruiter and Certified Diversity Recruiter certificates from AIRS in 2006 and holds an Undergraduate Degree in Telecommunications Administrative Management/Business Administration from Ohio University.

David Oltman was one of the co-founders of ReloTax and The Hessel Group, a worldwide corporate relocation technology and tax consulting firm headquartered in Wilton, Connecticut. Today the Hessel Group operates as Ineo/Relocation Taxes. The company prepares transferees personal income tax returns, handling the complex multi-state taxation issues along with performing thousands of gross-up audits, keeping both the transferee and the company “100% whole” according to policy. Every year hundreds of thousands of moves are run through the company’s propriety software products.
David received his B.B.A. in Human Resources from Pace University and his M.B.A. in Finance. Before founding The Hessel Group, David was Manager of Benefits Administration and Relocation at Ciba-Geigy/Novartis Corporation. David is a member of The International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans and The Employee Relocation Council along with being one of the founders of the Relocation council of New York City. David was one of the first individuals in the country to receive his CRP designation. He is an ERC Meritorious Service Award winner.
David has been married for 31 years and has three children. He lives in Katonah, New York (about 50 miles north of New York City). He is the proud captain of the golf foursome that won the ERC golf championship in Las Vegas by shooting a record low “gross” score of 58.

During her tenure with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, Susan has developed the following: an Executive Link program for corporations to help management and employees during the recruiting and relocation process; a relocation training proram for Howard Hanna Sales Associates; expanded the employee benefit program, “Hanna Gold Advantage”, to more corporations providng on-line communication and registration; added a third party relocation company, Relocation Horizons, Inc., which provides corporations with relocation policy counseling, development, and administration services for their management and transferees; added a REO asset management platform to provide nationwide asset management services for local and national banks; improved and expanded the customer service center for inquiries through www.howardhanna.com.
Prior to Howard Hanna, Susan worked for Mellon Financial Corporation. She was responsible for all corporate employee relocations. Susan is a member of the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council and is a member of their National Program Planning Committee. She is also a member of the National Relocation Director’s Council and has been a featured speaker at numerous National Relocation seminars. Susan lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband, three children, and four grandchildren. She loves to travel.

An experienced global mobility strategist, Susan has helped multiple Fortune 100 and 500 companies develop global mobility programs that facilitate their corporate talent management objectives. Currently serving as the 2011 President of the Woldwide ERC® Board of Directors, Susan is driving the strategic direction of the organization by pioneering multiple membership and product initiatives.
Susan holds a BA in Communication and Sociology from Luther College, as well the Worldwide ERC® Senior Certified Relocation Professional (SCRP®) and Global Mobility Specialist (GMS™) designations. Becky Shepherd began her relocation career when she started working for Chicago Title Insurance Company, whose parent company owned a relocation company known as Employee Transfer Corporation. Becky moved from the title industry into relocation in late 1970s, and since that time has served in several different capacities and companies during her relocation career. In 1992, Becky’s family was relocated to Ohio where she began work at Nationwide Insurance Company which has given her another prospective in relocation from the corporate viewpoint.
Becky has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and is a Certified Relocation Professional (CRP). Becky lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband Bob and two sons.

Rather than offering a “one-size-fits-all” program, he created a nimble, innovative, and responsive firm supplying flexible services to meet the specific needs of companies while reducing overall relocation expenses.
